Public knowledge: Iliana lives in a stone tower near the ruins of Dragonspear castle. She is the protector of the new village nearby. In earlier days she was a member of the Scales, together with the halfling shield maiden Shaddon, the halfelven matriarch Rahasia, and the halfling rogue Khelderec - who owns an inn near her tower. She is a regular visitor of Suzail, Waterdeep, Silverymoon and the heartland cities.
Informed: She is a strong mage (abjurer) and a well trained fighter. Her tower seems to have been build overnight and made of one block of massive stone not found withing 200 miles of Dragonspear. She has fought with Zhentarim, Dragon cult, Red wizards, and Ilithid, and she has travelled cross Thorill, its crystal sphere and other planes. Her library is said to rival some of Waterdeep and often friendly mages come to studie here; main subjects are the history of the elven empires, and the rise and fall of the human wizard empires (Imaskari, Netheril, Narfell/Raumathar, Shoon, and Thay). She very much likes strong alcoholic drinks, but usually drinks tea. She is a vegetarian, but understands that other like their meat.
Personal: She has a stable relationship with a Dark elf, which results in derision/hatred/stupification from most (gold) elves, but is rejoiced by a high profile minority. Her twin sister is often mentioned, as she travels around with a human bard. She fears only Ilithid. Her tower is guarded by some strong defences: a bound major spirit, an iron golem, a djinn, and sometimes an astral dragon (a fellow spellresearcher with a 'robust' sense of humour).
World view: Iliana is an anarchist, but she doesn't mind leaders as
long as they don't really oppose the development of their 'subjects'. She, of
course, hates tyrany and slavery, but has a special treatment for those who
enslave others by mental means.
Honour is important. Not honour as seen by other people - honour to oneself.
She is eldest child of the ruling family of a small elven enclave, so 'nobless
oblige' is almost automatic. This was further amplified by the martial arts
training of a fellow slave - a former Kensai, dishonoured and banned from
Kozakura as he had learned the foreign art of the Dervish dance. He could never
return, but by training an apprentice he could give himself the chance for
eventual retribution for the insults brought upon him. Iliana is planning to go
east, but, typicaly elven, has not done so for the past decade.
At a glance: a pretty, ageless and diminutive elf maiden, clad in exquisite raiments. She is one of the færy: pale golden hair, fair skin, and violet eyes. Her expression is innocent and friendly in a sort of helpless way. This seems to be the reason why many a romantic figure falls in love with her, expecially paladins and swashbucklers.
Closer look: To non-elves she looks about 15 years old, her clothing is of the highest standard: silk, fine wool, or furs. Her equipment consist usually of two carrying bags, a long bow, some dagger and a curved sword in a multi-hued scabbard. She is almost always accompanied by a small dragon; it will lie on her shoulders or be asleep in the hood of her cloak.
Scrutiny: She moves with a fighters grace, but handles herself well in various social situations. There are hardly any small pouches on her belt typical for magick skills. She wears the black-and-white gloves of a follower of Tyr and her belt is of a red/pink/yellow hue with blue 'Mystra' stars. For the very perceptive several grayish threads were woven randomly through the other colours. She wears no armour.
First encounter: well mannered, polite, and friendly, yet Iliana does dislike familiarity from strangers, especialy from self inflated humans. She knows the right address to most people, but she wishes to be treated likewise. If the first encounter is not polite, she will follow suite.
Casual relations: fearless, curious and helpful, but she likes her privacy. However, she is easily persuaded to help other people if they ask nicely. Knowledge is her prime interest, the skill of sword fighting a close second. She is not interested in power and might, but she will takes what she sees as her responsibilities. She is extremely strong willed on what she sees as right-and-wrong and will seldom deviate from that.
